The very talented performer and collaborator, Shiloh Goodin, is on the show today! Shiloh and I came to know one another through a mutual good friend. Shiloh is currently in Toronto rehearsing for the world premiere of the musical, Sousatzka! Very exciting! When I heard she was going to be in town I immediately contacted her to be on the show as I knew she would have such great things to add to this ongoing conversation about creativity, mindset and the entertainment biz. We get to hear about what it has been like to work with some of the most creative minds in theatre and what she has taken away from being a part of a world premiere show that will open in Toronto at The Elgin Theatre in late February 2017 and be Broadway bound in fall 2017!
Shiloh and I hadn’t really had the chance to have much one on one time seeing as she lives in New York and I live in Toronto, so it was great to have a chance to sit down and have an authentic conversation and get to know her thoughts on life, creativity and her journey as an artist in the entertainment industry.
Some of the things we discuss in this episode are how she learned to tackle her fear of singing auditions, how and why she finally decided to give herself permission to create and why she is excited to see the theatre world embracing technology and social media.

A little About Shiloh:
Shiloh is an American actress, dancer, and collaborator who has been on all sides of the theatre-making process. She has made most of her career in musical theatre, from dancing in the ensemble, acting roles, and working as an associate choreographer. Favorite productions include Anything Goes (Maltz Jupiter), South Pacific (Riverside Theatre), Camelot (national tour), The Anthem (original off-Broadway), and Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum (Sacramento Music Circus). This year, she had the pleasure of doing a two-person off-Broadway play called The Screwtape Letters, based on CS Lewis’s classic.
Shiloh is currently rehearsing for SOUSATZKA, which is an original Maltby and Shire musical having its pre-Broadway world premiere at the Elgin Theatre. The show features Victoria Clark in the title role and is lead by director Adrian Noble and choreographer Graciela Daniele. It has been one of the most educational and special experiences of her career.
Shiloh’s other formative experiences include teaching dance at a school for children from the leprosy colonies in Southern India, dancing with a Lady Gaga impersonator in China, dancing with the Santa Fe Opera, performing over 1000 performances as a Disney princess in Tokyo, Japan, and leading a 200-person flash mob in Times Square. She grew up in tiny northern California town, where climbing trees was far more important than wearing shoes, and her love of dance, music, and storytelling was first born.
