Buckle up! Actor Angela Asher is joining me on Cue To Cue today! Angela is direct, honest, and very clear about what’s she allows in her life and attributes understanding herself and her boundaries has been an integral part of living a healthy life as an actor on and off set.
Angela speaks about self-care in a way that is refreshing and also shakes you up ( which I love). Self-care, therapy, and meditation are non-negotiables for Angela and believes it is so important to be very choosy in who you spend time with. One of my favourite sentiments that Angela drove home was, “time is energy”. I have personally struggled with recognizing when I am giving my attention to the wrong projects or people and still do from time to time. Angela could not be more right. When you are deliberate with how you spend your time, you will feel more in control of your life and ultimately more joyous. Every time I am too lax with my time I always pay the price. Something will have to give and ultimately it is usually some element of self-care. Whether that be the gym, meditation, singing, walking my dog or journaling.
Angela drives home that self-care is not just about affirmations and learning self-acceptance ( although that is an important component ), it is also about learning to set boundaries and learning about the kind of energies you are surrounding yourself with.
