Rita Carrey is the older sibling to comedian and actor Jim Carrey. In this episode, we discuss what it is like to have a very famous sibling and how it has impacted her career in the entertainment industry. We also discuss what changes she would like to see come to the entertainment industry and what she tells herself when she feels like giving up on anything.

Rita has a warrior’s heart. This is a term I use to describe someone who despite all of the challenges they have been through, they do not allow their experiences to harden them. Instead, they open their hearts wider and love bigger. This is the impression Rita Carrey left on me. What came through loud and clear is that she believes in being kind, helping others and seizing opportunities.

When I asked her what it means to be an artist, she responded with “ To me, it means complete joy. It’s not about how many people I sing to. It’s about my soul and where I think I should be. It makes me internally happy and if I can make somebody else happy by listening to what I do, then I have done everything in my life and I don’t need to do more.” That seemed to be a recurring theme during this interview. Making others smile and helping others.
