Straight off the heels of Dr. Silver: A Celebration Of Life, Britta Johnson is sitting joining the conversation on Cue To Cue and is opening up about the wonderful whirlwind the last few years has been for her.

Britta candidly gives us a look into her creative spirit. She opens up she about her creative process, developing confidence in herself as a writer and how we need to “dare to be dreadful” as artists. How much to do I love that!

Are you willing for yourself to fall on your face? Are you willing to go through the process? To get in there and get dirty and at the end of it it is still not what you want? This is the life of an artist.

In this episode:

  • we discuss the development of her newest Musical Dr. Silver
  • What the biggest lesson she is learning as a composer and artist in this current moment
  • the value of collaboration and how Britta is discovering how to be able to collaborate with herself and validate her own ideas
  • How being The Musical Stage Company’s inaugural crescendo artist has pushed her to grow and the process of producing 3 new works in 3 years.
  • How neither of us has seen star wars.
